No more knee pain Marlyn Russel during her daily water workout. Finally found a place to swim Ali Akin, new member, did not know this place “Los Cab” was in his backyard being from Huntington Beach. He was looking for a pool and Tom Zavaleta, Membership Services, “was helpful and great and he showed me around and I was hooked!” commented Ali. He is 82 years old and a retired physician. Marlyn russel has been dedicated to losing weight and becoming healthier. Over the past year and half, she has taken on a new lifestyle: dieting and working out everyday. Marlyn swims for an hour or more almost everyday. in total she has lost 6 dress sizes and 60 plus pounds which has eliminated the pain in her knees. Marlyn’s dedication to the Miles of Madness competition was recognized by many of our swimmers and staff. She only missed two days out of the whole month of October! Marlyn is a prime example of how swimming can promote weight loss and a healthier lifestyle. During one month our “Miles of Madness” members swam a combined total of 2,371.2 miles. Our walkers/runners worked out for a combined total of 864.75 hours. the grand total of aquatic miles logged was 3,235.9! WOW! that’s 881 miles more than before! Way to go Los Cab aquatic members!
